Explore El Nido and its stunning surroundings
El Nido is a magical place for me. Standing on top of Taraw Cliff overlooking El Nido and the islands in front I am totally happy.
How to get there:
Fly to Puerto Princesa International Airport. From there, you can take a minibus/van directly to El Nido. The trip will take you about five to six hours. You can organize a minibus right in front of the airport.

Climb Taraw Cliff
A giant limestone karst overlooking the beautiful town of El Nido. If you need a guide, ask at the Art Café in El nido.
Tips for climbing Taraw Cliff
- Bring lots of water
- Gloves can be helpful
- Wear good shoes all the way
- Apply sunblock
- Be careful and don’t rush
Explore the beaches by scooter or motorbike
Get a scooter or motorbike to explore the beaches around El Nido. It`s a fun ride and a lot to see on the road. There is not always a paved road. So be careful.
Get a kayak and explore uninhabited islands around El Nino
We took a kayak and ride to the island in front of El Nino bay. First there was just a little wind on the way there. On our way back the wind was really strong and we had trouble to get back. Some kayakers were pulled back to El Nino bay by passing boats. So you do not have to worry. It is a unique experience and you can search for your private beach on uninhabited islands!
What you should bring:
- Lots of water (I took 1,5 liters)
- Something to cover your skin (the sun is burning)
- Waterproof camera / Waterproof bag
- Apply lots of sunblock
Island Hopping – Tour A
This was one of the best things I did in El Nido and most travelers come for. It is a little pricy but it is definitely worth it. You will see most stunning rock formations, lagoons and beaches. You might be there only once 😉
Book it at one of the travel offices in El Nido.

I stayed at the Garnet Hotel which I was more than happy with. My room had A/C, a nice bathroom and the best bed I slept in for quite a while on my travels. The location is also one of the best in El Nido.
